Increase/Expand the Economic Sectors throughout the Region
  • Promote the Availability of industrial sites, labor force, broadband and transportations amenities.
  • Encourage the creation and expansion of value-added agricultural industries.
  • Encourage the start-up and/or location of new/emerging technology industries.
  • Encourage the expansion of tourism and recreation service industries.
  • Encourage entrepreneurial development and assistance programs.
  • Promote the expansion of broadband technology and infrastructure to assist business/industry compete in the global marketplace.
  • Promote improvements of highway, air, and rail transportation which are essential to economic growth and development.
  • Promote the development incentives available for industries that locate or expand within the designated "Enterprise Zone" areas throughout the Region.
  • Promote the cultural and recreational resources of the Region.
  • Encourage enhancements of cultural and recreational amenities to attract and retain employees.
  • Continue to conduct Regional Existing Business/Industry Retention and Expansion program.
  • Improve community infrastructure and/or facilities that retain/attract/expand business and industry throughout the Region.

Create a Highly Skilled, Educated Workforce

  • Promote training and retaining programs to business and industry.
  • Encourage collaboration between business/industry and educational institutions for relevant "school to career" curriculums.

Maintain and Improve Housing Conditions throughout the Region

  • Promote upgrading and reinvestment in the existing housing stock.
  • Encourage new construction of quality, affordable housing units.
  • Promote existing regional homeownership assistance revolving loan programs.
  • Establish a regional essential home repair/rehabilitation revolving loan program for homeowners.

Improve Community Infrastructure and Facilities that Promote Public Health, Safety and Quality of Life

  • Provide information and technical assistance on available funding resources.
