Lead Hazards Inspections
The Area 15 RPC maintains a quality housing
team who are State certified Visual Risk Assessors and Sampling Technicians.
The RPC can provide its membership communities with administrative
lead-based paint technical assistance that are awarded either CDBG
Owner-occupied Housing Rehabilitation or HOME funding for Home Ownership
assistance that incorporates a rehabilitation element. This specialized
assistance consists of the performance of all required visual risk
assessments, generation of required assessment reports, developing
Lead-based paint hazard reduction specifications, work site monitoring, and
conducting all required final visual inspections and dust clearance testing.
Currently, the Planning Commission is performing this service for the city
of Ottumwa in Wapello County.
